Virgin of Vladimir embracing the Christ Child (The original icon came from Constantinople and was presented to Russia in the early 12th century, and after a short stay in Kiev was taken to Vladimir – hence the name.In the 15th century, the icon was transferred to Moscow and became the Palladium of the Tsars).
